Hotel Zed Tofino Is Coming
It’s official! Hotel Zed Tofino will be open to guests Summer2020. We are SO excited to welcome guests and their pets, surfboards & bikes to our newest Hotel Zed. But with Hotel Zed Tofino, we’re putting locals first.
And we’re not just talking people. The onsite bird sanctuary will be carefully and lovingly preserved. So will the rainforest. In fact, we’re adding generous amounts of trees and greenery. Conservation is, quite simply, in our nature and so is being real. And we really can’t wait for the Tofino community to experience the many features and amenities of the new Hotel Zed. We are building this hotel to be a space that Toficians will love and be proud of.
Hotel Zed Tofino is going to look a little bit different than our other Zeds. That’s because we’re creating a hotel inspired by Tofino’s natural surroundings. We’re harmonizing our look and feel with nature for this new space, using avocado green, eggplant purple and burnt orange for colour scheme. Still retro-chic, but with an organic feel which is a perfect fit for our hotel in the rainforest. There will be so much to do year-round at Hotel Zed Tofino–not just in the busier summer months.

Use our space. The lobby will be a throwback to the 70’s complete with retro features like a shag rug and hanging fireplaces. There will also be a groovy sunken living room (remember those?!) that locals can rent for free for community meetings and gatherings.
Use our stuff. Remember, Hotel Zed rebels against the ordinary and Try our drop in poker room, hit our 80’s arcade, play mini golf, enjoy tarot cards, chill out at movie nights, boogie in our mini disco and more…all for free! Locals can also use all of these awesome common areas free of charge. Say hello to your newest hangout.
Our hotel is for the birds. And for the bears (but not literally!) We have designed bird-friendly windows, and we’ll be limiting pet traffic to keep shorebirds undisturbed. Safe waste containers will keep bears from rustling up snacks.
Staff need their Z’s. Staff will love the beautiful new accommodations: units with two private bedrooms and a shared kitchen. Because our staff are family here, it’s important to us that they get somewhere beautiful to call home. We’ll have room for up to 28 well-rested Rebels.
Get your fill. Our onsite restaurant is gonna be Tofino’s next great hangout with affordable fare, ultra-cool decor and live entertainment to keep things humming.
Plenty of room. The new building will replace the existing front building of Jamie’s Rainforest Inn with a 3-storey building adding 49 rooms (for a total of 91 rooms) built on the building’s existing footprint. The parking lot size will remain the same, but with more indigenous plants to enjoy.
We encourage guests to come car-less. The hotel’s shuttle bus can pick guests up at the airport. No taxis or other vehicles required. Guests can explore Tofino using our awesome, free bikes.
Reducing light pollution. All lighting will be downward facing to keep our skies dark and our stars bright.
