Hotel Zed Tofino is well underway on BC’s most beautiful coastline and we are hoping to open our new Tofino hotel in (fingers and toes crossed) July 2020! This 70s-inspired swankfest will include a sunken living room in the lobby with teardrop fireplaces hanging from the ceiling for you to cuddle up next to. You can also expect a poker room (hopefully with a velvet painting or two), a mini disco, an arcade, plus other surprises. And you can bet the design will take you back in time, too. While the main building will be open in Summer 2020 you will have to wait until Spring 2021 for the restaurant, but we promise it’ll be worth the wait! We have tapped Eric Pateman, one of the world’s leading consultants and strategists on culinary and gastronomy tourism, and Craig Stanghetta, an esteemed BC restaurant co-owner and designer, to lead our new Tofino restaurant concept. This place will be for locals first. We are not 100% sure what it will be, but they are envisioning a 70’s surf club feel that focuses on wood fire cooking that celebrates the region (hello seafood!) and is comfort food-based. We just need to make sure we can vent the wood cooking properly!

We also have our first sneak peek of the exterior of our Tofino hotel. It will bring a nice vintage colour pallet to the rainforest along with a funky cheveron roof to give it the Hotel Zed retro feels you have come to know and love:

Inside, we partnered up with the super talented Nathan Davis to turn our plain old stairways into works of art. Nathan is incorporating the look and feel of the local Tofino culture with Hotel Zed’s signature style. Here is a taste of it:
